I know you came here for tips on an amazing engagement session, but I just wanted to let you in on why you really do need to get them done.
You just got engaged, what next? Where do you even start with the planning this wild event? My suggestion is to pick your date and venue first. If you are having trouble finding a date or venue, consider meeting up with a wedding planner. Most vendors will not want to speak to you until you have those two things set. We know when you have your venue booked your date is solid and you are serious. There are only so many weekends in a year and if we are going to commit to you we need that for sure date.
So you have your date and your venue set, and you want to look for your photographer. Your photographer should speak to you not only in style but also in personality.
I’ll admit not every couple is a good fit for me, and I am not a good fit for every couple. The best way to test the waters is with an engagement session. It is a much better idea to spend a few hundred dollars to test the waters. What if you LOVE the images you see online, but the photographer is super annoying to you. That would make your whole day very uncomfortable, and it is very likely that will show in your photos.

- Dress it up only as far as you would dress up. Be you and not someone you are not.
- Pick a location that means something to you.
- Get a good nights rest before your session.
- Communicate with your photographer what you loved and what you didn’t love so much.
