Pre Wedding Photo Session - Molly Blair

What is a pre wedding photo session? Well, they are all the rage in Asia. Here in the US we have engagement sessions which are a bit different. Engagement sessions are much more relaxed, usually in your everyday wardrobe.

A pre wedding photo session is in your wedding attire. Your hair and make up trial could be on this day. You would wear your formal attire. Don’t worry we will make sure to keep everything clean. Use this opportunity to open up time on the wedding day. In the US, we do have bridal sessions which happen more often in the South. I would love to see couples do more of these types of sessions.

One thing I strive for with my couples on their wedding day is taking away the stress. I genuinely want you to have more fun and party than taking you away from your party to do photos.

This is one reason I encourage a first look. First looks allow time before the ceremony and most of all allow you to have time with your friends at cocktail hour.

I pride myself in being fast and efficient with also delivering creative and compelling photos. I know that I will be able to give you a small handful of beautiful imagery on your wedding day. The difference with a pre wedding shoot is the level that can be delivered. There are pretty much no limits. Say you want a different location. I would much rather do this separate location on a different day than on the day of the wedding.

When couples request going to a different location on their wedding day I actually discourage it. Traveling to various locations eats up time of the wedding day and adds some stress. Any stress that can be avoided is good in my book.

I can create beautiful images on your wedding day. I can create dynamic and powerful images with more time to incorporate additional lighting set ups. Extra time allows me to think out of the box.

Crowded streets are another reason I think these sessions are a good idea. Think about this for a moment. Weddings mostly happen occur on the weekend. Streets and roads are crowded. Crowds are stressful. When you are on a restricted timeline crowds are even more stressful.
